Back in Europe we are doing much more cycling than Morocco, we finished the Ecovia Lateral going both ways from Spain to the most South Westerly point in Europe, a barely signposted 251 km (x2) cycle route which is occasionally fantastic (the salt pans, beautiful cliffs and beaches, gorgeous little villages) and sometimes really scary (walking down a railway line, cycling through a knee high river and cycling on, as we were told by the locals, ‘Europe’s most dangerous road’ ( we wore our helmets for once, though the way some of the Portuguese drive I think all that would...

It’s our own fault really. We met a UKIP Daily Mail reader in Gibraltar who’d given up motorhoming because of the gas attacks in Spain his friends had suffered, (even though they’d never seen any sign of the attackers, nor gas, which had been fed into their van via the locks apparently) and we ignored his warnings. Well it came home to roost the other night when we’d been out for a meal after a 75km cycle and a few glasses of Sangria, some pre dinner cocktails and complementary ports after dinner that we too got gassed and robbed!
